The Glasgow Distillery Company, set up in 2012 in Hillington, was Glasgow's first malt distillery in over a hundred years. The distillery is known for adventurous cask maturation, from Cognac and Marsala to Port and Tequila.

Run through the distillery's copper pot stills, to build a clean, orchard fruit character. A sherry cask wrapped the young spirit in dried fruit and a nutty depth. The 1770 single malt comes in three styles: The Original, the Peated and the Triple Distilled. Water is drawn from Loch Katrine, and the whisky is bottled at natural colour without chill filtration.

Bottled at a cask strength 59.7%, it is intense. Orchard fruit and a light honey lead, and the Oloroso brings dried fruit, fig and a nutty depth. Soft orchard fruit sits behind the cask sweetness. Orchard fruit and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a cask driven young Lowland malt from Glasgow.
