From Stirk Consultants Co. Ltd comes this Glasgow malt, a 5 year old Glasgow malt from 2017 and bottled at 50%. The Glasgow Distillery Company, set up in 2012 in Hillington, was Glasgow's first malt distillery in over a hundred years. It was the first single malt distillery to work in Glasgow since the old Glasgow Distillery at Dundashill closed in 1902.

Made in copper stills for the fresh, fruity house make, for a fruity, vibrant make. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, with vanilla and a soft apple. A young, vibrant spirit and a bold cask suit one another here. It sits in Hillington Business Park in the southwest of Glasgow, just off the M8. Founders Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward set out to bring single malt back to the city. The stills are named for the founders' families and for the MacDonald artist sisters. A young distillery, it leans on active wood to bring its whisky to life quickly.

At 50%, undiluted, it is rich and vivid. Pear, vanilla and a citrus lift lead, and the ex-Bourbon lends vanilla, honey and a soft apple. The texture is young and lively, the fruit lifted by oak. A long, fruity finish carries a vanilla lift. This is a bright, fruity young Glasgow whisky.
