Description
Storywood builds its whole identity on Scotch country oak, and the Speyside 14 Añejo is the clearest example. This is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila aged fourteen months in whisky casks from Dufftown in the Scottish Speyside alongside Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, then bottled at a robust 53%. The release is limited to 2960 hand numbered bottles.
The double oak regime is the point. The Speyside casks lend toasted oak and roasted nuts while the Oloroso brings a deep, dried fruit sweetness, and both sit over earthy cooked agave rather than burying it. At 53% the spirit has the weight to carry the wood, drinking warm and full with syrupy sweetness from the sherry and a savoury, nutty finish. It is a natural crossover for whisky drinkers exploring aged agave.
