Description
Storywood Speyside 7 is a 100% Blue Weber reposado built around one idea, that the wood should tell the story. Empty Scotch whisky casks from Dufftown in Speyside are sent across the Atlantic to Mexico, where the tequila rests in them rather than in the usual fresh ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a clear nod to the whisky drinker, the agave meeting a softer Scottish oak signature.
The agave shows the earthier, peppery side associated with lowland fruit, baked and faintly green on the nose before the cask steps in. Seven months in those lightly toasted casks brings caramel, subtle oak and a quiet lift of vanilla and honey over the cooked agave core. Bottled at 40%, it stays gentle and rounded, finishing warm. A higher strength cask strength version exists for those who want more grip.
