Full strength changes the character of an Irish blend entirely, concentrating the bourbon cask toffee, ripe banana and vanilla into something altogether weightier, with oak spice and pepper riding the extra alcohol. Water opens it into orchard fruit and cereal sweetness. For drinkers who know Irish blends only at standard strength, this is the louder, richer version of the story.
