Description
This is Batch 02 of St. Kilian's tribute to Bud Spencer, a marriage of German malt from the Franconian distillery with Irish whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk. Bottled in 2021 at 46%, it is a cross border blend rather than an Irish whiskey, and it carries the whisky spelling of its German label.
Ex-bourbon casks and ex-Amarone red wine casks handled the maturation, vanilla and orchard fruit from the American oak meeting cherry, dried grape and a gentle winey spice from the Italian wood. The result is soft, fruity and warming, made to be drunk without ceremony, which suits its namesake, and Batch 02 continued a series that has built a loyal following among fans of the films.
