Description
Ruggeri is a long-standing Valdobbiadene producer, and Giall'Oro sits in the Prosecco Superiore DOCG tier from that hillside zone. The wine is made from hand-picked Glera and vinified by the Charmat method, with the second fermentation in pressurised tanks. That tank approach preserves the grape's primary aromatics and gives a lively perlage, while stainless steel and a young release keep the fruit fresh. The Extra Dry dosage, around 16 grams per litre, leaves a light, balanced sweetness typical of the style.
The colour is light straw with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is fresh and fruity, with green apple, peach and citrus over floral notes. The palate is lively and sparkling, with ripe pear and apple, gentle sweetness and a fresh acidity that keeps it clean. The finish is light and refreshing with a citrus edge. Serve well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside antipasti, carpaccio, grilled salmon or a mild goat's cheese.
