Description
Ruggeri was founded in 1950 near Valdobbiadene, north of Treviso, and Argeo is its DOC Prosecco, here presented in a gift box. The wine is made from 100% Glera, harvested in September at optimum ripeness, and vinified by the Charmat method, with the second fermentation in pressurised tanks. That tank approach builds the lively perlage and keeps the grape's primary fruit fresh, while stainless steel and a young release protect its freshness. The dosage sits at a balanced Brut level around 12 grams per litre.
The colour is bright yellow with a fine, lively bead. The nose shows grapefruit and lime with floral notes and a hint of green apple, and the palate is refreshing and sparkling, with balanced acidity and a clean fruitiness that flatters the Glera. The finish is fresh with a subtle citrus edge. Serve well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside fresh salads, sushi, canapes, grilled salmon or oysters, and the box makes it an easy present.
