Rhum Attitude selected this single cask Chairman's Reserve, distilled in 2010 and matured for thirteen years in the Caribbean. It comes from Saint Lucia Distillers, a house that runs several still types, and this particular cask leans toward a clean, bourbon influenced expression rather than the funkier pot still side of the island.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at cask strength of 61% with no added sugar, it drinks dry and powerful, with coconut, vanilla and caramel up front and toasted wood and spice building behind. Thirteen years of tropical ageing concentrate the oak and tame the strength enough to keep it balanced. The estery Saint Lucia signature is muted here, which makes it a fine pick for drinkers who favour dry, barrel forward rums.
