Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (LMDW Collection New Vibrations) 2010

This Master's Selection was drawn for La Maison du Whisky's New Vibrations collection, a single pot-still cask from St. Lucia Distillers, vintage 2010 and eleven years old. It is bottled unsweetened at full strength, 61.1%, and shows the distillery's signature savoury, medicinal pot-still character turned up rather than smoothed over.

The nose mixes woody and roasted notes with tropical fruit and a clear medicinal edge, while the palate brings leather, caramelised wood and more of that ripe fruit. The finish stays woody and dry, with medicinal spice, leather and dried fruit lingering. Distilled on St. Lucia's John Dore copper pot still and matured in ex-bourbon oak, this is a dry, intense bottling that rewards attention and a slow pace. It suits drinkers who already like robust St. Lucia rum and want the spice and roasted darkness pushed further.
