Regele’s Schilcher Frizzante comes from the Blauer Wildbacher grape native to Western Styria, picked early to hold acidity and carbonated in tank by the Charmat method. Redcurrant, rosehip and a peppery herbal edge run through a dry, tart, gently sparkling pink style.

Description
Regele is a Styrian winery based at Leibnitz, and this frizzante is a Schilcher, the rosé style made from the region's native Blauer Wildbacher grape. The fruit is picked early to hold onto freshness and acidity, then fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel. The base wine is finely carbonated in pressurised tanks by the Charmat method, which gives a gentle perlage while keeping the wine young and primary. The result is dry and characterful rather than soft.
The colour is a light salmon pink with faint violet reflections. The nose shows redcurrant, rosehip and a delicate herbal edge, and the palate is dry, lively and refreshingly tart, with animating acidity, fine bubbles and a fruity, peppery finish typical of Blauer Wildbacher. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a tulip glass. It makes a good spring and summer aperitif and suits light starters, antipasti, salads with strawberries or goat's cheese, and grilled fish.
