Description
Regele is a Styrian winery at Leibnitz, and Platscher Perle is its easy-drinking frizzante, made from a selection of aromatic, light white grapes typical of southern Styria. The perlage comes from a second fermentation in pressurised tanks by the Charmat method, which keeps the carbonation fine and the fruit fresh. Stainless steel handling and a young release protect the wine's floral character, and the style leans light and sociable rather than serious.
The colour is light straw with silver reflections. The nose shows fragrant green apple, citrus and elderflower with a hint of white peach, and the palate is fresh, lively and fruity, with a delicate bead, gentle residual sweetness and a harmonious, easy finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif for garden parties and brunches, and suits light summer cooking, grilled vegetables and fresh cheeses.
