Description
Regele is a Styrian winery at Leibnitz, and this Sekt sits at the Sekt Austria quality level, made from 100% Pinot Blanc for a clear, modern take on the Burgundy family. Vinification runs by tank fermentation, followed by six months of lees ageing, which builds a fine mousse and a creamy texture while keeping the wine precise and restrained. The dosage is set low, at a dry Brut level around five grams per litre, so the wine reads clean rather than sweet.
The colour is light straw with a fine, even bead. The nose is subtle and clear, with citrus, apple blossom and white fruit over a light spice and a hint of yeast biscuit. The palate is fresh and balanced, with delicate fruit, an elegant structure and a creamy, persistent mousse, closing lively and clean. Serve at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a versatile aperitif and suits light starters, fish, seafood, poultry and mild cheese.
