A cask strength Hampden style funk bomb crossed with peat, all gluey esters, marzipan and pineapple over smoke and bacon, a single cask blend from Rum Artesanal at 59.6%, loud and unconventional.
Description
Elements Feuer is a Rum Artesanal release under the RA Burke's banner, bottled by Heinz Eggert in the German house's unsweetened full proof tradition. It is a single cask blend of pot and column still molasses rum built around high ester Jamaican character, then given a smoky twist that plays on the fire theme of its name, all carried at a punchy 59.6%.
The aroma is unmistakably funky, glue and ester over marzipan and pineapple, with a clear Hampden signature. The palate brings tropical fruit tangled with peat, ester and that gluey edge, before a finish of peat smoke, bacon and a whisky like phenolic note. It is a genuine crossover, ripe Jamaican funk meeting Islay style smoke, and while the proof is high it settles in the glass after a moment. One for drinkers who enjoy both loud esters and peat and want something deliberately offbeat, neat or in a bold cocktail.
