Description
Weingut Polz, founded in 1896 in southern Styria, made this Brut Rose from a balanced cuvee of Pinot Noir and Zweigelt, with selective harvesting and precise cellar work by Christoph Polz. The wine is built to show the South Styrian terroir, with fresh acidity and a fine bead, and it stays on the lees to add a creamy texture before bottling under natural cork. The dosage sits at a dry Brut level, keeping the red fruit clean and lively.
The colour is a light, delicate rose with fine, lively bubbles. The nose shows fresh strawberry and raspberry with floral notes and a hint of citrus, and the palate carries that red fruit on a fine creaminess, with a balanced structure and a subtle spice. The finish is refreshing and long. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes an elegant aperitif and suits salmon tartare, grilled fish, seafood, poultry and mild cheese.
