From Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, this 24 Year Old is a 1991 vintage, cask 4240, an outturn of 587 bottles. Mortlach, the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, runs a 2.81-times distillation and worm-tub condensers that give the heavy, meaty spirit fans call the Beast of Dufftown.

Across twenty-four years the Oloroso and a slow angel's share concentrated Mortlach's weighty make into stewed dried fruit, chocolate and a leathery depth.

At 55.5% it shows dried fruit, fresh fruit, a nutty depth, an oily texture, old wood and a sherried weight, undiluted. A Beast of Dufftown.
