Description

From Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, this 19 Year Old is a small parcel of casks, a 1996 vintage. Mortlach, owned by John Walker & Sons from 1923, makes a dense, sulphury Speyside through worm tubs and its singular 2.81-times distillation.

By nineteen years the dense Mortlach spirit had turned oxidative, esters and acetals lending dried fruit and a savoury, oily weight beneath the vanilla.

At 46% it shows chocolate, citrus and a leafy note. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
