Mortlach 18 Years Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

That Boutique-y Whisky Company, known for its comic-strip labels, released this 18 Year Old, an outturn of 363 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.

Across eighteen years the oak's ellagitannins added structure while oxidation deepened the meaty spirit into cooked fruit and leather.

At 48.9% it shows malt, dried fruit and a leathery edge over the oily Mortlach weight, undiluted. A muscular Speyside malt.
