Mortlach 17 Years Old 2008 Cask #800115 (Signatory Vintage)

Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, bottles this 17 Year Old, a 2008 from cask 800115, an outturn of 184 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.

Across seventeen years the oak's ellagitannins added structure while oxidation deepened the meaty spirit into cooked fruit and leather.

At 55.9% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight over the oily Mortlach weight, undiluted. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
