Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, bottles this 17 Year Old, a 2007 vintage, cask 202, an outturn of 680 bottles. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.

Across seventeen years the sherry's melanoidins and growing oxidation built dried fruit, nutmeg and leather into the gamey, savoury spirit.

At 56.9% it shows a sherried depth, undiluted. A bold, rich Mortlach.
