From Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, bottlers of the Carn Mor Strictly Limited range, this 11 Year Old is a 2010 vintage, an outturn of 302 bottles. Founded in Dufftown in 1823, Mortlach owes its rich, meaty weight to worm-tub condensers and the unusual 2.81 distillation devised by Alexander Cowie.

Eleven years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the heavy, sulphury make.

At 57.2% it shows fresh fruit, undiluted. A Beast of Dufftown.
