Mortlach 10 Years Old 1993 (Duncan Taylor)

Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories, bottles this 10 Year Old, a 1993 distillation. Mortlach, the Beast of Dufftown, condenses its spirit in worm tubs and part-triple-distils through the tiny Wee Witchie still, building weight and a savoury, sulphury core.

Ten years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the oily, meaty spirit.

At 46% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth over the oily Mortlach weight. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
