Description

Miyagikyo Fruity and Rich is a no age statement single malt from Nikka's Miyagi Prefecture distillery, released in 2015 for the Japanese domestic market in 500ml format at cask strength. It is one of a pair of Japan-only expression-led releases, alongside Malty and Soft, designed to showcase contrasting aspects of the distillery's range of production styles within the same series.

The Fruity and Rich variant emphasises citric brightness, cooked and fresh fruit, and a light hay-like and leafy freshness, with a fragrant lift that keeps the profile airy despite the 55% bottling strength. Ex-Bourbon maturation provides vanilla support without overwhelming the fruit-driven character that gives the expression its name. It is a concentrated, lively and distinctly seasonal-feeling Miyagikyo.
