Description

Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent founded in 1938 with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories. This Octave 9 Year Old is a 2011 vintage from a small ex-Bourbon octave, cask 8330253, an outturn of 94 bottles. Miltonduff, the sweet, grassy Speyside raised on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey and known as a Ballantine's workhorse.

Nine years in the small octave cask pushed oak into the grassy, floral make quickly, the concentrated wood adding vanilla and light spice early.

At 54.9% it shows bright apple, pear and vanilla, undiluted. An Octave 9.
