Description

From Chivas Brothers' Secret Speyside Collection, this cask strength 24 Year Old is an American-oak Miltonduff, a rare mature official of the floral Ballantine's malt. Distilled on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey near Elgin, where the Black Burn supplies the distillery founded in 1824.

By twenty-four years the soft, floral character had grown deep and polished, cumulative oxidation concentrating dried fruit and nutty oak as the strength eased. Decades in a cool, damp dunnage warehouse pulled the strength gently lower.

At 52.1% it shows mature apple, pear and honey over vanilla and a delicate body, undiluted. A Secret Speyside cask strength 24.
