Description

Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations. This Cask Strength 22 Year Old is a 1994 vintage from Oloroso cask 15221, bottled at a robust strength. Miltonduff, a light, floral Speyside from near Elgin, its spirit long destined for the Ballantine's blend.

Twenty-two years in Oloroso built deep sherried maturity, melanoidins and decades of oxidation giving dried fruit, leather and a nutty, polished oak. The humid Speyside warehouse let alcohol leave faster than water, easing the strength down.

At 60.4% it shows intense sherried dried fruit over the floral body, undiluted. A 1994 cask strength 22.
