Description

A.D. Rattray, whose name traces to a firm established in 1868, releasing single casks in its Individual Cask Bottling range. This 18 Year Old is a 1995 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask 2591, an outturn of 182. Miltonduff, the delicate Speyside drawn from the abbey-blessed Black Burn and long bound for Ballantine's.

Across eighteen years the oak's ellagitannins added structure while oxidation deepened the soft, floral character into cooked fruit and light spice. A cool Speyside warehouse held the pace gentle and steady.

At 58.5% it shows red apple, pear and soft vanilla, undiluted. An Individual Cask 18.
