Description

Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations, whose Connoisseurs Choice range introduced a generation to single malts. This 18 Year Old is a 1973 vintage. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.

Eighteen years in a bourbon cask matured the soft, floral character into richer territory, toffee and cooked fruit over an emerging waxiness.

At 40% it shows apple, pear, honey and vanilla over a delicate body. A 1973 Connoisseurs Choice 18.
