Description

Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent founded in 1938 with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories. This Octave 11 Year Old is a 2011 vintage from a small ex-Bourbon octave, cask 8334109, an outturn of 87. Miltonduff, the fresh, floral Speyside distilled beside Pluscarden Abbey near Elgin and long bound for the Ballantine's blend.

Eleven years in the small octave cask pushed oak into the grassy, floral make quickly, the concentrated wood adding vanilla and light spice early.

At 54% it shows apple, pear and vanilla, undiluted. An Octave 11.
