From Ian Macleod's Dun Bheagan range, this 11 Year Old draws on a 2008 vintage in ex-Bourbon, casks 138 and 140, an outturn of 879 bottles. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.

Eleven years in a bourbon barrel brought balance, lignin-derived vanilla and a growing fruity-ester sweetness folding into the delicate Speyside make.

At 46% it shows chocolate over apple, pear and vanilla. A Dun Bheagan 11.
