Description

Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent founded in 1938 with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories. This Octave 10 Year Old is a 2011 vintage from a small ex-Bourbon octave, cask 8331366, an outturn of 85. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.

Ten years in the small octave cask pushed oak into the fresh, floral character quickly, lending vanilla and toffee faster than a full barrel would.

At 54.4% it shows orchard fruit, pear and vanilla, undiluted. An Octave 10.
