The Elgin house of Gordon & MacPhail, trading since 1895, held unrivalled Longmorn stocks. This Private Collection 53 Year Old is a 1966 vintage from Oloroso cask 610, an outturn of 398 bottles after more than five decades.

Fifty-three years in Oloroso built profound depth, the cask's melanoidins giving date and raisin.

At 46% it shows deep sherried dried fruit worn to silk, the poise of great age. A 1966 Private Collection.
