Description
Our Barley is Lochlea's flagship, the clearest statement of a distillery built on a single idea: grow the barley, distil it, bottle it, all on one Ayrshire farm. Lochlea works the land Robert Burns once farmed, raising its own Laureate barley for full traceability from seed to spirit.
The spirit is matured across first-fill bourbon and Oloroso, the bourbon oak lending vanilla through lignin breakdown and the sherry a touch of dried fruit.
At 46% it shows honey, fresh orchard fruit, vanilla and a citric lift over a hay-like, malty freshness, the clean unpeated Lowland style the distillery is built around. The Lochlea house malt.
