This Triple Matured Edition was a cask strength Lagavulin limited edition released in 2013, matured across three wood types, an outturn of 4,500 bottles. Lagavulin was built in 1816 on the bay that gives it its name, on southern Islay.

Lagavulin's pot stills run slowly, building a dense peated character. Matured across three cask types, the layered wood adds depth to the smoke.

Bottled at 48%. The smoke comes off the phenols and guaiacol, the casks giving vanilla and dried fruit. The recorded notes run to dried fruit, old wood and smoke. A triple matured limited edition Lagavulin.
