Description
This is the White Horse Old Blend, the famous blended Scotch Peter Mackie created in 1890 around Lagavulin, here a 1962 vintage bottling. Lagavulin, in a bay on the south of Islay, was the smoky heart of the blend and was licensed under White Horse Distillers.
Peter Mackie ran Lagavulin and built White Horse into one of Scotland's best-known blends. The whisky combines Lagavulin's Islay smoke with lighter grain and malt whiskies.
Bottled at 43%. Lagavulin's peat gives a coastal smoke beneath the blend's softer cereal sweetness. A vintage bottling of the historic White Horse blend.
