Description

This 1994 Distillers Edition was bottled in 2010 at sixteen years old, a PX-finished vintage in the series. Founded in 1816, the distillery sits on Islay's southern shore at Lagavulin Bay.

Lagavulin's peated spirit is run slowly off the stills for weight. Following the first maturation it went into Pedro Ximenez casks made from sun-dried grapes.

Bottled at 43%. Guaiacol and other phenols carry the coastal smoke, the Pedro Ximenez bringing raisin and date over a syrupy depth. A PX-finished Distillers Edition.
