Description

This 13 Years Old marked Feis Ile 2011 for the distillery, distilled in 1998 and drawn from ex-Bourbon cask 1715, an outturn of 588 bottles. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits between Laphroaig and Ardbeg on southern Islay.

Slow distillation gives the peated make its weight. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask at full strength, thirteen years give a vivid, direct smoke.

51%, the cask's own strength. The smoke rises from guaiacol and phenols, the ex-Bourbon giving vanilla. A festival single cask Lagavulin.
