Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a brighter, more direct take on the distillery’s peated style, bottled younger to emphasise smoke, citrus and maritime character over oak influence.

Description
Lagavulin 8 Year Old was first released in 2016 to mark the 200th anniversary of Lagavulin Distillery. Originally intended as a commemorative bottling, it proved popular enough to become a permanent core range expression, sitting alongside the 16 year old as a deliberate stylistic contrast rather than a replacement.
Matured for a minimum of eight years, the focus is on the natural character of Lagavulin’s heavily peated spirit rather than extended wood influence. Bottled at 48 percent ABV, it delivers a more vivid and energetic profile than the flagship 16, with higher strength carrying smoke, salt and citrus notes clearly and cleanly.
The nose shows fresh peat smoke, lemon zest and sea air, followed by light sweetness. On the palate it is structured and lively, with smoke, malt, cracked pepper and citrus oils, finishing clean and dry with lingering peat and coastal salinity.
