Lagavulin 20 Years Old

This 20 Years Old was Lagavulin's Feis Ile bottling for 2020, a cask strength release of 6,000 bottles double matured in sherry. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits in a quiet bay on the south of Islay.

A famously unhurried distillation gives a heavy, peated body. Matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks, the sherry wraps two decades of smoke in dark fruit.

Bottled undiluted at 54%. The smoke rises from guaiacol and phenols, the Pedro Ximenez giving raisin and date, the Oloroso fig. Tasting notes take in chocolate, smoke, tobacco, honey, leather and dried fruit. A deep sherried festival Lagavulin.
