Description

This 19 Years Old marked Feis Ile 2019 for the distillery, a cask strength release of 6,000 bottles for the Islay festival. Founded in 1816, Lagavulin is the middle voice of southern Islay's peated trio.

The heavily peated make comes off the stills slowly, gaining body. Matured in American oak at full strength, nineteen years build a deep, mature smoke.

Bottled at full strength, 53.8%. Phenols and guaiacol carry the peat smoke, the American oak giving vanilla and honey. Tasting notes take in citrus, honey, a sherried note, a leafy lift, leather and a medicinal edge. A mature festival Lagavulin.
