Lagavulin 18 Years Old (Feis Ile 2018)

This 18 Years Old was bottled for Feis Ile 2018, a cask strength release of 6,000 bottles for the Islay festival. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits in a quiet bay on the south of Islay.

The peated spirit is distilled slowly, the still shape adding weight. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks at full strength, eighteen years keep the spirit bright while deepening the smoke.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.9%. Phenolic compounds drive the peat smoke, vanilla from the oak beneath. Notes take in fresh fruit, smoke, citrus, vanilla, a hay-like note and a medicinal edge. A festival cask strength Lagavulin.
