Description

A cask strength 12, this was the 2010 Special Release. The distillery dates from 1816, in a sheltered bay on southern Islay.

A long, slow distillation through onion-shaped stills shapes the peated make. Bottled undiluted after twelve years in ex-Bourbon, it offers a direct coastal smoke.

Cask strength, 56.5%. Guaiacol and phenols drive the smoke, vanilla coming from the ex-Bourbon. The palate shows a mossy note, smoke, a toasted edge and tobacco. A cask strength Special Release.
