Description

This is a Hand Filled distillery-only Lagavulin, Batch 004, a 12 year old in ex-Bourbon filled at the distillery in 2026. Lagavulin was founded in 1816 and sits between its Kildalton neighbours on Islay.

Lagavulin's peated wash is taken slowly off pear-shaped stills. Twelve years in ex-Bourbon, bottled at full strength, give a vivid, direct smoke.

Bottled at full strength, 53.4%. The phenols, guaiacol among them, drive the smoke, with vanilla from the ex-Bourbon, the full strength lifting both. A hand-filled distillery-only Lagavulin.
