La Liqueur de Monin Orange Curacao

La Liqueur de Monin Orange Curacao is an orange liqueur from Monin, the French syrup and liqueur house based in Bourges. It rests on orange peel macerates at 24% in the 70cl bottle, the bitter and sweet peel giving it depth, citrus freshness and a slightly tart edge, inspired by the Caribbean curacao tradition and built in the traditional macerated style.

The nose is expressive of bitter orange, citrus zest and a fine herbal touch, the palate fruity and a touch spicy with distinct orange peel, light sweetness and a pleasant tartness, the finish medium long, fresh and citrusy with an elegant bitterness. Behind the bar it adds tart orange depth and that bittersweet lift which tightens a sour, the reason it slots into a Margarita, a Mai Tai, a Cosmopolitan or a Sidecar. It also brings depth to fruit sauces and ice creams, and a measure freshens a long drink.
