Knockdhu 18 Years Old 2006 Cask #C25124 (Claxton’s)

Claxton's bottled this 18 year old 2006 Knockdhu for its Warehouse No. 1 range from ex-Bourbon cask C25124, an outturn of 177 bottles. Knockdhu, at Knock, in Banffshire, sells its own malt as anCnoc; independents use the distillery name. Opened in 1894, it ranks among the country's smallest distilleries.

The stills came back into use in 1989. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over eighteen years, the wood deepens the malt at full strength.

Bottled without dilution at 53.8%. The ex-Bourbon offers vanilla and coconut, the cask strength giving the fruit extra drive. An older independent single cask.
