A.D. Rattray bottled this 12 year old 2009 Knockdhu from ex-Bourbon cask 700307, an outturn of 195 bottles for the Netherlands. Knockdhu, at Knock, in Banffshire, uses anCnoc for its own releases; independents keep the distillery name.
The stills came back into use in 1989. Over twelve years the ex-Bourbon cask deepens the malt with vanilla and gentle oak spice.
Cask strength, 53.9%. The ex-Bourbon lends vanilla and coconut, with a maltol-driven toffee sweetness. An independent single cask.
