Jose Cuervo 1800 Guachimonton is an Anejo Tequila of 100% Blue Weber agave from Jalisco, made at La Rojena, the historic Jose Cuervo distillery in the town of Tequila carrying NOM 1122. The release takes its name from the Guachimontones, the circular pre Hispanic pyramids of the region, and its red ceramic bottle echoes the iron rich clay soil where the agave grows.

As an anejo it ages at least a year in oak under NOM-006, here with an added finish in barrels that previously held an orange tequila liqueur, a reference to the orange orchards once planted in this part of Jalisco. The result is amber with copper glints and an aroma of fresh orange, honey, caramel, vanilla, wood and ripe fruit. The palate is velvety and soft with a gently sweet, faintly bitter edge, bottled at 40%.
