Johnnie Walker Island Green Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (John Walker & Sons) is a blended malt Scotch from John Walker & Sons. It marries single malts from more than one distillery, Caol Ila among them. Diageo's Special Releases have featured both peated and unpeated Caol Ila.

Islay malts bring the smoke, the lighter Caol Ila style keeping it clean rather than heavy. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the spirit. The clean spirit shows the cask clearly, which is why it suits so many wood types. The lighter style means the cask and the citrus speak alongside the peat. Much of the spirit leaves the island by sea to mature on the mainland. The spirit's high notes of lemon and grass survive even long maturation. Caol Ila's smoke leans to lemon, olive oil and brine rather than tar or iodine. Malt comes from the Port Ellen maltings on the south of the island.

At 43% it is supple and oily. A coastal peat smoke runs through it, with lemon, brine and a soft oil over a sweet fruit. Beneath the smoke run lemon, brine and a peppery oil. The close is long, smoke over a citrus lift. A characterful smoky blended malt Scotch.
