Johnnie Walker Island Green Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (John Walker & Sons) is a blended malt Scotch from John Walker and Sons, with Cardhu at its heart. Cardhu has been the heart malt of Johnnie Walker since the Cummings sold the distillery to the Walkers in 1893. The distillery was known as Cardow until 1981, when it took the name Cardhu.

The Cardhu within gives a gentle apple and pear note. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the sweetness lead. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Cardhu warehouses. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards honey, dried fruit and a soft spice. A gentle maturation suits the soft make, the fruit growing richer with time. It runs three wash and three spirit stills, all of a pear shape. The light spirit was built for the blender's art, easy and approachable. It was rebuilt and expanded by Elizabeth Cumming, the Queen of the Whisky Trade, who sold it to John Walker and Sons in 1893.

At 43% it is gentle, sweet and fruity. Soft orchard fruit, honey and a gentle spice run through it, smooth and approachable. Pear, honey and a creamy malt fill the middle. The finish is soft, sweet and gently fruity. A characterful blended malt Scotch.
