John Walker & Sons, an independent bottler, selected this bottling. The first legal distillery in Dufftown, Mortlach builds its meaty weight through low-copper worm tubs and the 2.81 distillation, and has anchored Johnnie Walker for a century.

Ex-Bourbon maturation framed the muscular Dufftown spirit, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core as oxidation slowly began.

At 43.8% it shows dried fruit and a hay-like note. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
